About West Kilbride Village Hall
The Village Hall, originally built in 1900, is a focal point for the community – weddings, birthday parties, music concerts, aerobics, lunch club, children's bouncy castle, community council, creative displays, flower shows, quiz nights . . . Its website shows it all.
It has been the focal point of the village since its opening in 1900. Originally intended to replace a former library and provide new leisure facilities for the community, for the first 60 years is was a privately run enterprise called the West Kilbride Institute, the name can be seen carved in stone above the main entrance in the picture below left .
In 1959 ownership passed to the Public Authority and at present is the property of North Ayrshire Council (NAC) but managed by the Trustees and a Management Group who are all volunteers who collectively have a wide range of skills and expertise.
