Although less than half a mile in length, the Serpentine is one of Scotland’s most technical and challenging cycling routes. It leads cyclists up the steep and winding incline to the summit of Canada Hill, and contains no less than 14 hairpin bends. To begin the route, proceed to Rothesay’s main square and follow directions for Canada Hill. Be especially careful on your descent! This route is not for the faint of heart.
The ruins of Rothesay Castle boast a long and close connection to the Stewart dynasty
Enjoy beautiful views over Rothesay to the Firth of Clyde and the Cowal Peninsula from the top of Canada Hill.
