Irvine to Ardrossan – Ayrshire Coastal Path

This 9.3 mile (15 km) walk along the picturesque Ayrshire Coastal Path will take around 4 hours and 30 minutes. The walk is along roads, promenades, cycle paths and sandy beaches

This tour is 9.3 miles long, please allow at least 4 hours 30 minutes to complete it, excluding the time taken to enjoy the destinations along the way.

The walk is steeped in Scotland's industrial past and takes you from Irvine through ‘The Three Towns’ of Stevenson, Saltcoats and Ardrossan. Sights along the walk include the Robert Burns Statue, and the oval track of the Cadgers’ track where cart horses and ponies are still raced mid-August. Watch out for the Garnock Floods Nature Reserve where duck, geese and waders can be seen. The impressive Victorian era villas of Saltcoats are a reminder of the towns' historical importance, as the new Clyde Marina looks to the future.
