Castle Route

Cycling

A 10km mountain biking circuit passing through sections of hilly forested road, tracks, and trails

This tour is 5.5 miles long, please allow at least 50 minutes to complete it, excluding the time taken to enjoy the destinations along the way.

Although steep in places, this route is suitable for most biking novices and encompasses a diverse selection of Arran’s best attractions, from the Heritage Museum’s wealth of information and authentic experiences about the history of the island; to Brodick Castle - a stunning ancient 16th century estate which is now a popular country park with indoor and outdoor activities for all the family. Ancient and natural wonders are also plentiful along this route, with many opportunities to spot wildlife in the more challenging forested sections. Watch out for basking seals as you travel along the coastal path or take a diversion to climb Goatfell (Arran’s highest point)!
