About
Tarbolton
Tarbolton a small village in South Ayrshire, lying between Mauchline and Prestwick in South Ayrshire.
The village is perhaps best known for its strong connections with Robert Burns. Burns set up a debating society here, in 1780 at a cottage in Sandgate Street. He called it the Bachelors' Club. The cottage has now been restored and houses a museum owned by the National Trust for Scotland. Visitors can explore the authentic cottage in which Burns would once debate with other members of the Tarbolton parish. There is a small selection of shops and cafes in the village centre.
