Kings Cave

The historic King's Cave is one of the several locations in which Robert the Bruce was said to have had his famous encounter with a spider, which (so legend has it) encouraged him to carry on his fight for Scotland. It can be reached from Blackwaterfoot where you can walk along the beach and through the boulder-field path. This is part of Arran Coastal Way. This route offers stunning scenery of the surrounding areas. It can also be reached by starting at the forestry car park between Blackwaterfoot and Machrie.
