About
Jack's Viewpoint
The Amenity Society, now West Kilbride Civic Society SCIO, chose the site because of the magnificent view of Arran and beyond. Permission was granted by the landowner, Mr Wardrop, to construct a sheltered seat and viewpoint indicator in 1987, dedicated to the memory of Dr Bill Jack, Captain of The Boys Brigade.
The Society replaced the indicator with a photographic plate, identifying what could be seen, in 2013 in memory of both Dr Jack and his son, who was also involved with the Boys Brigade and the local community. Troughs of roses were added in 2017 in memory of Betty Stanger, a much valued committee member.
