Winter Gardens Discovery Centre

The Discovery Centre and Winter Garden is just a short walk from the ferry terminal and so makes a great starting place for visitors to Bute. The cast iron and glass structure, situated on Victoria Street was first opened in 1924 and renovated in 2001, resulting in the Grade A building that can be seen today.

Inside the building is home to Bute’s tourist information point, a shop and 90 seat cinema. Not only does the cinema show new movies but it is also home to the Bute Film Club, who screen arthouse cinema over the winter season on a Sunday night.
