About Ballantrae Windmill
Built around 1696, Ballantrae Windmill was disused by 1799 and is a Category A-Listed Building due to its important place in early industrial development. Located in rugged field-land overlooking Girvan Beach, the Windmill is a picturesque landmark which would have once been ideally situated to harness wind-power from the sea.
