About
Ascog
Ascog lies on the sheltered east coast of the island. Thanks to its sheltered position, Ascog has a relatively mild climate; consequently, trees and shrubs grow fruitfully here. In fact, the renowned artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh drew fuschsias in Ascog.
There are several historic buildings in the area, including the seventeenth-century Laird’s mansion, Ascog House; Ascog Hall& Fernery; and the Italianate style Balmory Hall. Loch Ascog lies to the west.
