About
Arran Art Trail
The Arran Art Trail is a unique opportunity to discover creative studios, workshops and galleries around the island. Arran's artists and crafts people will welcome you into their workplace providing the opportunity for you to witness an artist or craftsperson at work and find out where they get their inspiration, as well as the processes involved in their work. We have a variety of disciplines on the trail, painting, sculpture, ceramics, precious metal jewellery, textiles, woodturning, photography and also part of the trail is the Lochranza Distillery Gallery, which exhibits work by artists and photographers throughout the year.
You will also have the opportunity to purchase a unique piece of art work, something individual and made on our beautiful island should you so wish. If you are travelling by car watch carefully for the Arran Art Trail logo indicating studios taking part. There are buses on the island connecting the villages, check timetables, (available online or at the tourist office), check them carefully and plan your journey before travelling to outlying studios. If you are making a special journey it is often a good idea to call ahead to ensure the artist is there as island life can be unpredictable. Mobile phone service can vary so it is best to call before travelling.
Please note - accessibility may vary from studio to studio, please check our brochure for details or contact the studio you are visiting.
