About Aird Hill
Rather confusingly, there are two Aird Hills on Great Cumbrae. On this summit in the north-northeast of the island, a cist was excavated in the late 19th century on Aird Hill and is part of the Tomont Cairns collection. The raised beach which is prominent along the north and west coasts of Great Cumbrae can be clearly seen from the northern Aird Hill.
