About Ballantrae Beach
A true natural beauty spot, this shingle beach is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), boasting a mixture of tranquility and ruggedness. It is especially important for breeding terns.
Enjoy wonderful views of Ailsa Craig as you explore the shoreline from the harbour at the north end to the estuary of the River Stinchar at the south. There is a grassy area next to the car park with picnic tables, a small putting green, and plenty of room for the children to play.
